In 1932, the Supreme Council of the Omega

Psi Phi Fraternity chartered Alpha Alpha

chapter as its first graduate chapter in the

city of Newport News, VA.   Alpha Alpha Chapter has been committed to uplifting the Hampton and Newport News communities through scholarship programs, activities for disadvantaged youth, talent competitions, essay contests, mentoring and tutorial programs, blood drives, voter registration drives, medical research fund raisers, food donations to needy families, donations to the shelter for battered women, feeding the homeless, angel trees, support of the Boys and Girls Club of Hampton Roads, the YWCA, the Boy Scouts, and Habitat for Humanity.  This does not include community efforts of individual brothers such as visiting local schools, coaching, volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Visiting Senior Citizen Homes.
